Ole Miss turned its roster over too, just less completely. The glass is the tell

Jake Morton was blunt about it: "That's a bad recipe for winning basketball games," he said. "I think we addressed that issue in recruiting with some more size and some more depth along our front line."
The main new piece is Omaha transfer Christian Richardson, a center who shot 72.7% from the field last season. A minutes-weighted height measure puts Alcorn at 80.7 inches to Ole Miss's 78.4, so the Braves may not be small. Ole Miss has its own problem here. Its defensive rebound percentage, the share of opponents' misses it collected, ranked 299th last season, and Beard named rebounding as a focus. If Alcorn's size can win second chances, it can stretch out possessions and keep the margin short of the number.
Ole Miss needs its shooters
Beard said plainly that "the 3-point shot will be a weapon for our team." The exhibition didn't show it. In the 92-84 loss to Alabama on Oct. 15, Ole Miss made just four of its 20 three-point attempts.
