Lindenwood vs Nebraska prediction: Lindenwood's all-new roster walks into Nebraska's reloaded three-point machine

The Lions return zero minutes from last season, while Nebraska rebuilds around Pryce Sandfort after a Sweet 16 run.

Quick take
  • Nebraska should control a slower game with ball movement and threes, while an untested Lindenwood roster searches for an identity in a hostile building.
  • Pryce Sandfort, a 41.6% three-point shooter last season, leads a Nebraska attack that faces a Lindenwood roster made up entirely of new faces.
  • No spread or total is posted yet; last season's adjusted net ranks, 13th for Nebraska and 261st for Lindenwood, frame the gap.

A roster built from scratch

Kyle Gerdeman is entering his eighth season at Lindenwood, and he has never coached a group this unfamiliar. The Lions lost every player from last season's roster. Their returning share of last season's minutes is 0.0%, so the 18-15 team that finished 20th of 365 in defensive efficiency is gone entirely.

The losses ran deep. Anias Futrell, who scored 17.4 points a game, is gone, along with Jadis Jones (now at USC) and Dontrez Williams (now at UNLV). In their place is a lineup that started an Oct. 20 exhibition at Southern Illinois with Xavier Spencer, White, Shamiere Green, Matar Diop and Marsai Mason. Lindenwood lost that game after being outscored by two points in each half.

That makes last season's numbers close to useless as a guide. The Lions, now in their fifth Division I season, were picked sixth of nine in the OVC preseason poll.
