Which final margins win both of my spread bets?
Enter a favourite and an underdog spread at two books to see which margins win both bets and what each result pays.
How it works
- A middle is the favourite at −a and the underdog at +b with b larger than a.
- A final margin strictly between a and b wins both bets; landing on a whole-number line pushes that bet.
- Any other result wins one bet and loses the other, which costs the margin on the pair.
Questions
How often do middles hit?
It depends on the numbers covered. In the NFL, margins of 3 and 7 are the most common, so a middle over one of them is worth far more than one over 5.
Is a middle worth it?
Only when the chance of hitting it, times the payout, beats the small loss on every miss.
